Logo Development

Pinnacle is an elegant chandelier store, based in Portland, Oregon. So far, Pinnacle has only one location, but in the coming months will be expecting to branch out of Portland. Owners, architects, designers and contractors consult with Pinnacle to identify preliminary design considerations unique to historical art, specializing in Art Nouveau.

Pinnacle can reproduce lost original fixtures based on photographs or other historical evidence. Pinnacle also recreates its chandeliers from art and architecture created in the early 19th century. Pinnacle’s lighting fixtures are made locally in Portland.

Logo

When designing the logo, I want to create something that would be very identifiable as a chandelier company. After so many different variations of chandelier thumbnails, I finally followed through with a classic candelabra chandelier design.

Type

I ventured into the SERIF world. Chandelier companies scream serif. For the logo type, Nicolas Cochin Black is a sleek and refined serif. for the body copy I want to use something a little more playful, because I can’t help myself. It brings a softer look to text heavy documents and blocks of type.

Color

I researched color combinations that are classically etherial. The soft Pretty Pink pairs with Dark Green well. There is enough contrast for print and digital items.
